I had high hopes for this place, as every time I walked past, I would always smell the food and get cravings! I went to the Steakhouse Bronco in Groningen with a couple of friends.
I ordered an appetizer to share with a friend, which had a mix of their "most popular" appetizers. It included nachos (missing the shredded meat you normally get when ordering it), onion rings, kroketten, a tiny bowl of olives (No idea why they placed a small bowl of olives in their popular appetizer selection), lumpia, and garlic bread. Overall, the appetizers weren’t bad, but not worth the €11.50 per person they charge. I think you're better off ordering a single appetizer (like the nachos or something else), as you’ll get more of it, and it’s cheaper. The main issue was the wait time—after taking our order, it took well over 30-40 minutes to bring the appetizers.
For my main dish, at first, I was leaning towards their ALL YOU CAN EAT spareribs, but then I opted for their New York T-Bone Steak (500 gr), cooked "medium" (don't judge). After another 30-35 minutes, the steak finally arrived. A single section of my steak was soft, melted in your mouth, and cooked nicely. However, the rest of it was the worst steak I have ever eaten; it was so rare that it felt like chewing gum. Everyone else who ordered steak had the same reaction. No joke—some parts of the steak were so undercooked that I had to spit them into a napkin because they were inedible. Overall, the steak was horrible. I’d probably recommend going for a burger or something else instead. I also tasted the spareribs from a friend; they were fine but dry and flavourless.
Finally, I decided to satisfy my sweet tooth with dessert. I went for the "Grilled Pineapple with Coconut and Mango Ice Cream." I'll be honest—I’m not a big fan of pineapple on pizza, but this was worse. Eating "warm and grilled" pineapple just felt weird and mushy, though the mango ice cream was the saving grace of the dessert. One of my friends got the Lime Cheesecake, but they mentioned it tasted like cardboard and was dry, either because it was really old or overcooked. Another friend got the Dame Blanche, which was just okay—nothing special.
